About the Dane County Small Business Awards (DCSBA)

Now in its 34th year the DCSBA celebrate small businesses and the contributions they make to our communities and economy.

Each year in June, they recognize ten Dane County businesses that have excelled at meeting the award criteria. The award is given to the business, including all of the employees, not just the owners. We recognize the owner(s) have the vision and take the risk, but it is the teamwork of all the employees that makes a successful company.

Award winning companies are honored at a breakfast program attended by on average 250 people. In addition to recognizing the companies for their achievements, the awards breakfast has a keynote speaker, panel discussion or other informative and entertaining program. During the awards presentation each winner will share a life or business success tip with the audience. Each winning company receives an award that they will proudly display for their employees and customers.

After More Than 10 Years with Fish & Associates, Inc.,
Rick Weiland Retires

Andy Fickett, President, shares:

“We gratefully thank Rick for his many contributions to Fish & Associates, Inc. over the years particularly during some challenging times. Serving as an Officer and Director of the company has had him front and center in many meaningful and important decisions that have helped the company grow and evolve. His efforts and commitments in these capacities did not go unnoticed as Phil Fish [Founder of Fish & Associates, Inc.] has said on numerous occasions that he could have never done it without Rick and that Rick’s knowledge and experience were instrumental in the success of the firm.

I would personally like to thank Rick for all the time that he spent with me as I transitioned into my current role by providing some history, perspective and background on the company. He was a great resource and someone that I relied on for guidance and support throughout his time here.”
