What people are saying about our recent presentations and seminars…

Finn Hubbard continues to receive praise on his Accelerated Bridge Construction (ABC) presentations.  This from the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department….

“It was probably one of the best, most beneficial and informative presentations I have ever been part of….  I have already received many positive responses from those who were able to attend.  I am confident it will be beneficial in our quest to build better bridges, faster.  Finn Hubbard was an excellent presenter.  If there are any other states considering this workshop, I highly recommend it.  This is especially true for any states that are in a similar position as Arkansas.”

US Army Corps of Engineers Joint Publication

We are proud to announce the publication of the Fatigue and Fracture Library for the Inspection, Evaluation, and Repair of Vehicular Steel Bridges coauthored by two of our very own, Phil Fish, Founder | COB and Curtis Schroeder, former Staff Engineer, along with Dr. Robert J. Connor, Purdue University | S-Brite Center, and Phil Sauser, US Army Corps of Engineers.

Here’s an excerpt from an email sent to our company by Phil:

“This is a day of pride for me at Fish & Associates.  The Fatigue and Fracture document that we wrote for the US Army Corps of Engineers has been released.  There were several of you that worked on this at various times over the course of the last four plus years.  It was a major effort for our company and will put our name on the map throughout the country.  This was reviewed by several national and international experts, so I feel it’s a very solid document.”

We Are Proud to Introduce Two of the National Highway Institute’s (NHI’s) Newest Certified Instructors

In August 2014, our Senior VP, Finn Hubbard, PE, and our VP, Todd Demski, PE, each earned their NHI Certified Instructor Certification, while presenting NHI’s Two-Week Bridge Inspection Course.

NHI Instructor Certification is open to Federal Highway Administration Employees (FHWA) or FHWA contract employees who have been approved for technical competency and subject matter expertise.

The three-step certification process begins with NHI’s Instructor Development Training  course that provides participants with the knowledge and skills to deliver more effective and appropriate adult oriented training.  In Step 2, candidates must prove their technical expertise of the NHI course material via NHI’s Program Office, Resource Center technical Manager or Contracting Officer Technical Representative (COTR).  This step ensures that the instructor can serve as a credible technical facilitator, authority, and resource.  In Step 3, the candidate instructor is observed by a master trainer during the candidate’s delivery of curriculum material to participants.  Upon successfully demonstrating the required competencies and skills in an actual teaching situation, the approved instructor candidate will be awarded NHI Instructor Certification
